Capacity: The Governor's order permits us to only allowed only 15% maximum of our
athletic facilities seating capacity. Based on this number, here are the maximum
number of spectators we can have at each athletic venue:
Reading High School Gymnasium: 92 people
Reading Middle School Gymnasium: 34 people
Veterans Memorial Stadium: 375 people
Ticket Information: We have gone to an online ticketing system (HomeTown Ticketing) for all Reading athletic events. All sports/levels that sell tickets will have an online link open 24 hours prior to the game for fans to purchase/reserve their tickets. There will be no tickets for sale at the gate. All tickets must be purchased online prior to the event start time. Parents of the participants in the contest will receive a code to purchase tickets prior to 8 a.m. on the date of the contest. At 8 a.m. on the day of the contest, all remaining tickets will be released for purchase by the general public. You must have a ticket to gain entry into the contest. Expect the ticketing process to be almost identical for most, if not all, away contests.
Varsity Football Tickets: With the limited amount of seating capacity and high demand, we anticipate tickets will only be made available to families of varsity football, varsity cheerleaders and band students who are on the active roster and playing/performing that evening. If any tickets have not been purchased by 8 a.m. on the date of the contest, they will be available online to the general public. When we are traveling, the link to the host school’s ticket box office will be shared with the varsity football and cheer parents when it is received.
Spectator Note: Due to extremely limited capacities at our facilities, we are asking that all lower level teams (7th/JV) parents not stay around for games that follow. In order for us to accommodate parents for their child's game, this is critical. All spectators are to wear a face covering (covering the nose, mouth and chin) at all times while attending our contests. Spectators are also to maintain a six (6) feet social distance from anyone not in their family pod. When choosing your seats, please be sure to spread out and distance yourself from anyone who is not from your household. We also ask you leave the first row empty and any seats next to steps leading up the bleachers.
Infants/Children Revised Policy: Typically any non-school aged kids (under 5) are permitted without paying and do not need a ticket. With strict orders limiting our capacity, all children (unless infants or small children who will remain on a parent’s lap the entire time) will need to purchase a ticket. This is temporary and we hope won't be long term.
Streaming Games: Since there is a possibility that we will not be able to accommodate all spectators
at our venues, we are looking into live streaming some of our athletic events. We will post a link on our website and social media for all events that are covered.
Self-Wellness Checks: ALL FANS SHOULD CONDUCT A SELF-WELLNESS CHECK BEFORE COMING TO ANY RCCSD SCHOOL PROPERTY. PEOPLE WHO ARE SICK SHOULD STAY HOME. If you have possible symptoms of COVID-19 or other illnesses, please do not come to athletic events. Fans are asked to screen themselves before they come to ensure they do not have a temperature of 100°F or higher.
Signs and Symptoms of COVID-19:
- Fever or chills (100°F or Higher)
- Cough, congestion, runny nose, sore throat
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Muscle or body aches
- New loss of taste or smell
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
At-Risk Individuals: The parents, grandparents, siblings, and other family members/friends of athletes, coaches, volunteers who are at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19, including elderly people and those who are immunocompromised, are urged to stay home to the extent possible except as necessary to seek medical care. Those at risk include, but not limited to: those with chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma; those with serious heart conditions; those who are immunocompromised; those with severe obesity (body mass index BMI of 30 or higher); those with diabetes; those with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis; those with liver disease; women who are pregnant.
Seating/Distancing: All Reading Athletic facilities will be marked with a Reading decal designating where spectators are required to stand while waiting to enter the contest. All seated families are to be in groups of 4 or less. Only members of the same family/household may sit together. All fans MUST practice social distancing at all times while at any RCCSD event.
Masks: All fans are required to wear masks at all times on RCCSD property. We expect all away events to have a similar policy.
Concessions: Our Athletic Boosters have decided to not offer concessions at this time. The orders for them to follow to be open are just too restrictive. The Athletic Boosters will have spirit wear available for purchase at some of our events.
Unique Situations: Middle School volleyball venues league wide will only be open for home team spectators due to the small amount of seating already in place in most Middle School gymnasiums. Due to construction, High School Volleyball at Mariemont will only be open to home team spectators. Due to already small seating capacity, Indian Hill High School Soccer will only be open to home team spectators.
All in attendance should be keenly aware of the importance of following all safety protocols. All involved must follow the direction provided by the Reading Schools and Athletic Administration. The reason for this direction is the safety of all participants and to allow student athletes from both teams to continue to have the opportunity to play the game that they love.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
